I am based out of San Luis Obispo, CA on the beautiful Central Coast but I’m willing to travel anywhere and everywhere to photograph your wedding!!
A: I typically book weddings 9-12 months in advance. If your wedding is further away then that, you are still more then welcome to book me!! Any less then 9 months and I’m typically booked up, but feel free to email me and check! When you book your venue, I highly suggest booking your photographer not long after
A: First off, NO, you are not getting digital negatives, instead you are getting FULLY EDITED images! Digital negatives are .jpeg images unedited or just slightly altered with a little bit of color correction. I prefer to give you all your pictures fully edited, because that reflects who I am as a photographer. The way I run my business is the way I’d want to be treated as a client. I always think about myself as the client and what I’d want. And in this case, what I’d want is all my pictures edited as I see them on my blog. Some people pay thousands of dollars for a photographer who in the end only gives them a handful of edited pictures, and the rest are “digital negatives.” My thought is you are paying a photographer because not only do you like their creative eye to take the right pictures, but also their creative editing style. So just a warning, when you are looking at photographers, make sure you understand what you are getting in terms of your final images. With me, you will always get fully edited high-resolution pictures
A: First, email me with all your wedding date information, and we can talk pricing and packages
Then to book your date and ensure that I will be photographing your wedding, a contract and deposit are required. I book on a first come, first serve basis, upon receipt of a signed contract along with the deposit. For booking lifestyle sessions, a deposit is required along with a signed contract in order to book your session fully. If you’d like to book your wedding or session, email me at, daniellecapitophotography@gmail.com, to get a copy of the contract.
A: When hiring a professional photographer many people are surprised by the cost, yet don’t realize a photographer does way more work then just shooting the 8 hours of your wedding day. Not only are you paying for the hours of shooting time, but you’re paying for the hours upon hours of editing (the editing style you like and chose your photographer for), the business expenses like equipment, office supplies, hard drives, a second shooter, etc. All things that make a functioning business, and make it possible for your wedding photographer to be successful! There are so many behind the scenes costs that go into a photography business, as well as trying to make a living!
A: My amazingly awesome boyfriend Adam shoots weddings with me. His portfolio is available for you upon request! On the off chance he is unavailable, I will bring another qualified photographer to shoot your wedding with me!
A: There are so so many factors to consider! Check out a blog post I wrote about that by clicking here
A: From a 1.5 hour portrait session, you will get about 100-150 carefully edited images. From an 8 hour wedding, you will get about 600-800 carefully edited images. Every session and wedding is different, so this isn’t a guarantee just an average.
Yes of course!! I will upload all your images to my Smugmug site. Your guests can then get the password from you and access all the images to buy prints or download. Albums can be ordered through me.
A: I prefer if guests refrain from taking pictures (with a point-and-shoot, DSLR camera, or phone) during any posed shots, like bridal party or bride & groom. The other cameras flash may effect my photos or may distract the people in the photo to look another way. As a general rule, I do not allow guests to shadow us on weddings. We reserve the right to kindly tell a guest these rules. I also ask that guests don’t stand in or near the aisle during the ceremony, as that could affect me getting “the” picture or not.
A: I think it’s a great idea for multiple reasons. During the time spend together for your engagement session, we get to know each other, laugh, and share stories. You two will become comfortable with me and being in front of my camera. By the wedding day, we won’t be strangers and you two will be totally ok with me taking SO many pictures of you
I also get to see how you two interact and the best ways to photograph you, ultimately giving you even better pictures on your big day! You can see all my previous engagement sessions by clicking here. Because of this, all collections include a complementary engagement session and the package cannot be discounted if you chose not to do it.
A: I’d suggest at least 2 outfits. Fun, flirty outfits are always fun, like sparkles, pumps, short dresses, etc. And for more casual, a fun belt, chunky necklace, headbands, and/or fun patterned dresses or shirts are great too! For guys, wear something that plays off the girls’ outfit, nothing too crazy, just something that works for your personality, and isn’t too matchy matchy with the girl. I’d also suggest for girls to get their hair & makeup done, because that always makes you feel more fabulous and ready to work it for the camera
If you can’t afford to do that or don’t want to, I’d suggest to wear a bit heavier makeup then normal, because the camera reads heavier makeup as normal looking. Check out my Pinterest for some outfit ideas by clicking here.
A: The answer is no and here is why. There are so so many reasons why I say that. Reason #1, I spend days and days editing your images to perfection. Reason #2, you hire me for my style, in both posing and editing, so I have to assume you like my editing style and don’t want to change a thing. Reason #3, I’m not just a service and a person who owns a nice camera, I’m an artist with a style of my own who wants my work to be shown to friends and family as I see it. Reason #4, you wouldn’t buy a finished painting and then paint over it now would you?
A: Awesome! The more details the better! I love it already! Yes I have been published on Style Me Pretty and many more wedding inspiration blogs!! Check out my Contact page to see all the place I’ve been featured. If you’d like to have your wedding featured, we can work together to make that happen!
A: I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark iii, and Adam shoots with a Canon 5D Mark ii. We have many different Canon lenses we use for all sorts of different shots, Canon speedlights, a ton of SanDisk CF cards, and an iMac and MacbookPRO for editing in Adobe Lightroom!
A: There is a whole paragraph about this stated in my contract, but I recently was asked if that has ever happened to me. Gladly I can say it has not happened, and I have shot every single wedding! If for some crazy, unforeseen reason I can’t shoot your wedding, Adam would then be the lead photographer and shoot your wedding. 2nd option would be for one of my amazing, talented wedding photographer friends to shoot your wedding. I promise I have backup plans because you are my client and I will make sure you are taken care of!
A: YES YES & YES!! We love traveling and see new places, and shooting a wedding in a new place would be just amazing. Please don’t hesitate to inquire with me even if you aren’t getting married in California! No matter if you’re getting married in San Luis Obispo, Hawaii, Italy, Kansas, or anywhere else, we’d love to be your photographers!
A. Yes of course!
I LOVE albums, and even though they may seem expensive, it’s because the quality you are getting from my albums is beyond amazing. Literally I think everyone should get an album because with the amount of digital images you have, it may be your only printed wedding item. Here is a link to the 12×12, suede, embossed albums I offer!
